We are looking for a motivated Sales Associate to join our team at Bicycle Cafe in Canmore, AB. Our shop is known for being one of the coolest spots on main street, offering a unique blend of a café, high end bike shop, and plant shop all in one. The ideal candidate will have sales experience, a passion for mountain biking, and experience with bike maintenance. Barista skills and plant knowledge are an asset.

Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service and support to customers in our cafe, high end bike shop, and plant shop

Assist customers with sales of bikes, accessories, and clothing, as well as plants and house plant accessories

Provide information and advice to customers on bike maintenance and repairs, and plant care

Maintain a clean and organized sales floor and shop area

Participate in inventory management and restocking as needed

Provide barista service and maintain a clean and organized café

Occasional watering and maintenance of plants in the store

Qualifications:

Sales experience is required

Experience riding and maintaining mountain bikes is required

Barista skills are an asset

Plant knowledge and experience is an asset

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bicycle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate has a proven background in bicycle repair and maintenance, having worked in a bike shop environment with the ability to perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks with little to no supervision. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of bicycles, including road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, and more.

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using industry-standard tools, diagnostic equipment, and your own expertise.

  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure bikes meet safety standards and comply with all necessary regulations.

  • Replace or repair defective parts, including brakes, e-bike compentens, suspension repair, ensuring bikes are in optimal condition.

  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of parts and tools.

  • Collaborate with team members to improve shop processes and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in bicycle repair and maintenance.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment commonly used in bicycle repair.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing repair schedules and inventory.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety protocols, repair procedures, and industry standards.

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

  • Experience in working at a bike shop or similar environment is required, with a strong understanding of bike mechanics and repair processes.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience with bicycle repairs in a retail or service environment.

  • Familiarity with advanced bicycle systems, such as suspension tuning, hydraulic brake servicing, and e-bike diagnostics.

  • A passion for cycling and an in-depth understanding of various types of bikes and cycling components.
